The Pilot

Although its comfort and accessibility exceed standards in this category, it is not recommended as a first pod harness. That said, you don’t need to compete in the X-Alps to fly it. The overall comfort and durability make it an excellent choice for an everyday harness for pilots in need of a compact hike & fly setup to access more remote take-offs, or for convenient and lightweight travel with a highly XC-capable harness.

It is definitely durable for the category, but please note that this is a light harness which should be handled with the normal amount of care and attention you give your light wings.

The Tech

The F*Race 2’s innovative structure is based on an ergonomic Dyneema pattern that has been designed for anatomic support. The longest ever X-Alps flight was completed in this harness structure by Damien Lacaze, who reported that it treated him well for over 11 hours.

Each side of the pod features large easy-access pockets for cameras and equipment. The high volume rear compartment has a hydration bladder sleeve, and pole stowage, in addition to the large under-seat compartment. The cockpit pocket stores batteries easily. A removable cockpit is ideal for larger instruments, which can be connected to a chest pocket for extra in-flight storage.

Safety and Certification

The front mounted reserve compartment is well-integrated with an easily accessible handle, and the rescue bridles are connected at the shoulders.

A new inflatable protection system features an innovative inner compartmented design which is more efficient. It is also quick to setup – during a hike & fly race, every second counts, and a new 50 gram pump provides rapid inflation. The protector can also be inflated using the bag which comes standard. A dump valve allows rapid deflation. An inflation tube is accessible in-flight.

The F*Race 2 is certified to EN 1651-2018 standard for pilots up to 110kg. The inflatable protector spans from thighs to above lumbar and is certified with a peak impact rating of less than 33.27 g.

In Flight

Clip-in is fast thanks to one fixed leg-strap, which doubles as an anti-forget system, and only 4 closing steps (including the upper-chest strap). Ground handling is trouble-free thanks to the flexible nature of the structure – increasing mobility on tricky take-offs. Cleverly positioned EVA foam and reinforcements eliminate pressure points.

In flight, weight-shift is effective and well-tempered, and the stabilizing system (with adjustable ABS) is comfortable in turbulence. A large rear fairing profile and smooth pod improve glide and stability.

Less drag, more performance

The two-liner design reduces the number of lines and therefore drag, thus improving performance. We have been able to reduce the line set by 2%, despite the addition of 4 more cells, compared to the previous model.

Optimized accessibility

Much more accessible and easier to fly. The Artik R 2 is light and responsive in thermals. Piloting with the B-risers is efficient, safe and precise.

Better passive safety

Thanks to improvements in stability, a moderate 6.5 aspect ratio and Niviuk technologies applied in its design, the Artik R 2 offers increased passive safety.

DESIGN

New profile

The design of the new profile is much more pitch stable than its predecessor: the wing dampens efficiently and cuts through the air mass without losing energy.

Reinforced internal structure

The internal structure has been completely redesigned and the attachment points reinforced to ensure optimal stability. The orientation of the internal slots, ribs and diagonals has been revised to better distribute the loads and reduce the overall weight of the glider.

Dual brake configuration

The Artik R 2’s brake line offers two possible configurations, identified by the colors black and green, which allow you to adjust the travel of the line as you prefer.

Improved DRS integration

Thanks to DRS technology, the mini-ribs are integrated directly into the seams, eliminating external seams and protecting the wing from wear due to friction with the ground.

TNT Technology: Nitinol

Nitinol rods incorporated into the profile prolong the operational life of the wing and maintain its shape, even after being compactly packed multiple times.

ABOUT

The DELIGHT was born out of a very specific context: the X-Alps, where every gram counts and where equipment must meet extreme demands. The first generations were therefore harnesses lightweight harnesses , designed for walk & flight competitions.

Line , the product’s philosophy has evolved. The DELIGHT has gradually transformed into an accessible harness , capable of supporting a wider range of pilots.

Since the third generation, the goal has been clear: to offer a reassuring, comfortable, and user-friendly harness. The DELIGHT 5 fully embodies this philosophy.

Previous generations have gradually gained in comfort and features, which has been accompanied by an increase in weight. With the DELIGHT 5, the design team took the opposite approach: reducing weight while maintaining the level of comfort and protection achieved in the previous generation. The result: approximately 300 g lighter than a DELIGHT 4—a nearly 10% reduction—without compromising on durability or the quality of support.

The DELIGHT series is built on a distinctive frame designed to prioritize Stability. The plate provides a Seat and firm support, allowing the pilot to stay focused on their flight path without being distracted by unwanted movements.

The harness the glider. It filters and softens the sensations, allowing for a more relaxed flight, especially with modern gliders that are often very responsive.

The DELIGHT 5’s enveloping cockpit is designed to provide precise and comfortable support over long periods.Seat effectively holds the pilot in the harness, enhancing the feeling of security and reducing fatigue during long flights.

This ergonomic design makes it a harness suited for pilots flying gliders , as well as those looking for their first cross-country harness.

The DELIGHT 5 offers optimal safety in this category. The full-length PLASTAZOTE© back protector shields the pilot from the neck to the lower thighs thanks to high-performance structural foam that activates immediately upon deployment, regardless of the direction of impact. The Stability makes it easier to control the glider conditions become challenging.

This fifth generation also marks a step up in terms of details and ergonomics. The DELIGHT 5 incorporates several improvements, such as a magnetic cockpit, a speedbag , an optimized reserve pocket, as well as integrated accessories and more refined finishes.

These advancements allow pilots focus on their flights with an excellent level of comfort.

The DELIGHT 5 is all about balance: the kind that lets you fly for hours without getting tired, provides confidence in challenging conditions, and supports pilots their cross-country flights.
A harness for one simple thing: to fully enjoy your flight.

Optimized comfort and ingenious details

This fifth generation achieves the remarkable feat of shedding 300 g (about 10% compared to the DELIGHT 4) without compromising on ergonomics or durability. Comfort is ensured by an enveloping cocoon and leg straps provide precise support, ideal for long hours of flight. The upgrade to a higher-end model is also reflected in more sophisticated accessories: a speedbag cockpit and speedbag for simplified handling, as well as an optimized parachute pocket. These details, combined with meticulous finishes, make it a tool that is as pleasant to use on a daily basis as it is aesthetically pleasing.

The endurance to fly far and for a long time

The DELIGHT 5 is designed for smooth, effortless cross-country performance. By prioritizing Stability reducing fatigue, it allows you to tackle long cross-country flights with peace of mind. The ergonomics have been specifically designed to minimize unwanted input, offering a Seat that suits both pilots flying gliders and those discovering their first canopy. By striking the perfect balance between lightness and support, it becomes the ideal partner for covering miles without hassle and fully enjoying the pleasure flight .

Comprehensive safety, both passive and active

The DELIGHT 5 features comprehensive protection to give the pilot peace of mind throughout every phase of flight. Its passive safety system relies on high-performance structural foam that protects from the neck down to the lower thighs, offering consistent protection regardless of the angle of impact. In terms of active safety, the stable and responsive chassis allows the pilot to maintain precise control of their flight path without being overwhelmed by air currents. By acting as a filter that smooths out the glider reactions, the harness mental fatigue and makes it easier for the pilot to intervene when conditions become unstable.

SuSi XPed – Ready to explore

SuSi is back. Back to its original roots: an all-round glider, light and fun.

The SuSi XPed is the first product from the Expedition series (XPed) to be introduced.
Since the SuSi has its name and created its own class of gliders, the name XPed calls itself for being the lightest and toughest equipment for the most extreme and remote adventures. Weighing in at just 1.62 kg and designed for exploration, the SuSi XPed is also featuring an elevated sense of enjoyment. After all, that’s what it’s all about.

Feel. Explore. And enjoy!

By making the SuSi lighter and much faster while keeping its DNA, we allow the pilots to go much further in all their projects. Designer

The first generation of the SuSi (Super Simple) had no certification, only load-tested. It was originally built by our designer only for himself because Stephan wanted a wing for hike-and-fly which should be light, simple but performing. By getting the EN-A certification in most sizes, the fourth generation of the SuSi enables beginners to safely use this iconic glider as their first. The SuSi XPed does not replace the SuSi 4. It completes our range by aiming at more experienced pilots but still remaining certified in all its sizes! Whoop whoop!

Construction & Features

Double-coated Dominico DOKDO-10DSF for top and bottom surfaces. A choice that has proven itself in our Superlight gliders range.

Optimized internal structure to save weight. Each gram counts!

Unsheathed, hydrophobic and color-coded Aramid 8001 Magix Pro Dry lines. Solidity has never been so easy to untangle.

Ground attachment loops on the leading edge to prevent the paraglider from slipping on a steep and/or slippery slope (snow).

Evident inflation, efficient lift: ideal for short and tricky takeoffs.

Delivered in a VacPack, the latter ensures a reduced volume in your rucksack but should not be used to store the glider.

Our Superlight series focuses on building lightweight gliders having durability and usability in mind. Our new XPed series takes one step further and aims to reduce everything to its minimum – with functionality and practicality. The SuSi XPed is the first product to be launched, it is the lightest SuSi ever but still reliable in every situation.

SuSi 4

Another crazy early morning alarm bell. Bright light in from behind the curtains. Time to wake up again, but… hey! Today is holiday! Today I’m going out!

Going out, where I love the most being, out in the skies over snow caped mountains. I love it. I love it when he’s taking me there!

Wake up, little SuSi, he’s telling me, today is the big day. Today is SuSi day, you’ll meet lots of sisters up on the peaks!

Funny coincidence: the radio is playing this cover from Siouxsie & The Banshees – The Passenger I take it as a sign for another great journey with my beloved Passenger!

Well, what shall I report about the hiking and the flying… you already know well about it. Just enjoy the nature and enjoy your flight! That’s my style. When we meet with other couples at the parking lot before the hike, I’m surprised that I have quite some bigger and smaller sisters. And climbing up in the forest, then the fields, this bit of cliffs, we all exchange about life, nature, gliding, thermalling, competitions, speeding, all the fun we have.

And true, sometimes couples can be odd: this light casual pilot with a larger sister, this sporty shapy (mmmmh) pilot with my tiny sister… all sharing a same, same but different fun at the same time, in the same place. Louise just got her license last month. Flying with SuSi A. Johnny (aaaah, Johnny), the Himalayan survival guy, top fit, flying tiny SuSi D. All these other friends enjoying also SuSi B like me, and SuSi C of course.

Time to fly now. Let me enjoy it and I call you later!

The sun sets and turns into shades of orange and finally red. What a cliché, but I love it every time! One last SuSi sister is landing with her passenger. Ron and SuSi B just come back flying a nice triangle cross country style into the flats and back. The smile on Ron’s face reminds everybody else what this simple but amazing day brought us. We all love it, and I love my Passenger!

Super Simple fun from A to D

How to describe SuSi 4…

…in one word?
Unlimited

…in one image?
All these SuSi passengers being so different and sharing the same fun.

…in one dream?
Taking my passenger on a bike world tour, flying high, mountains, dune soaring, XC and so much more.

Why is SuSi now the Superlight-option for the EAZY?

Actually, the EAZY was built from SuSi. The SuSi concept has been proven over the past years to be safe and funny – so, it was obvious to design the EAZY based on SuSi. On the latest SuSi nothing changed much from perspective of agility, speed and fun but we closed the gap to the EAZY by certifying it into EN-A – bringing the worlds together!

Designer’s words…

Again, the story repeats. The Super Simple glider runs into its 4th generation. Development prolonged with tons of innovations like the BC-control and ratings in the EN-A. And still offering its now infamous flying sensation. I am stoked to have been able to redefine this glider and widen the usability of the wing again.

I remember the first generation of the SuSi which had no certification (only load-tested). I built it only for myself because I wanted a wing for hike&fly which should be light, simple but performing.
Today it still offers its typical flying sensations, it’s more robust than ever, and pilots all around the world can rely on the SuSi like they do since so many years!

Stephan Stiegler
Designer

What’s New?

Not that much of the spirit, but in construction details, a lot!

Improving the SuSi recipe, the glider feels more balanced overall. The starting behavior is even improved (yes!), rolling is more controlled. Full bar, the canopy has become more stable even with a glider being faster.

It got a fully working BC-riser control system over light or super light risers– it’s by the way a matter of weight or comfort which ones you use, it’s up to your choice.

And, in the standard loading we still achieved an EN-A rating (on most sizes), so newcomers to the sport can confidently fly the SuSi as their first glider. Surprise, surprise!

How small can it get?

SuSi 3 16 was the smallest EN-B certified glider in the world, now SuSi 4 14 definitely takes the lead (it’s only 12.18m2 projected)! And SuSi 4 18 is certified EN-A… AirDesign is definitely the specialist for small certified gliders. There is always a SuSi your size, whether you want to fly fast and furious, or smooth and peaceful whatever your weight is.

Construction & Features

Double coated Skytex, doubled seams, etching tape on edges and new nose guard patches: robustness is the key.

Unsheathed Aramid but color-coded lines! Solidity has never been so easy to untangle.

Shark nose with un bendable Nitinol rods not only to save weight and increase robustness, but also to help for a more compact folding… To slip it more easily into your tiny rucksack.

On the leading edge, ground attachment loops help to prevent the paraglider from slipping on a steep and/or slippery slope (snow).

Seamless razor edge with mini ribs: all seams are internal for a cleaner surface.

Choice of comfy 12mm aramid or Superlight dyneema risers.

New BC riser control system for better control and stability at high speeds.

Technical Specifications & Colors

SuSi 4 is certified from A to D and therefore covers all kinds of needs, pilot skills and practices. And this from very small surfaces already certified EN-A (18m2 flat) or B (14, 16m2 flat). Just use our tools on this page to find the one just for you!

AirDesign has a small one

We work hard on every model to be able to maintain the behavior of the glider in terms of flying, and also outside the flight envelope, for all the certified weights, starting by the smallest ones. The certification of most of our wings starts at 50 kg because we chose to announce only what we have actually tested. And above all, because we make sure that the glider is efficient, secure and fun at this load and this is as important as the certification itself! Our aim is to have light pilots find the same pleasure to fly as heavier ones.

Le Slip 2

Le Slip was the first harness developed by AirDesign and our motto was #neverchangeyourSlip. Well, only fools and dead men don’t change their minds. Le Slip 2, wear it before flight.

The True Story of the Original Le Slip

“What did I say that was so funny?” My girlfriend couldn’t stop laughing. She asked me with her beautiful French accent: “Do you know what Slip means in French?” “Nope” I said. “Well it’s a type of underwear my dear so when you said that you would never change your Slip… you basically said you would never change your underwear!” I could see her smile growing again.

“Hey I’m not talking about some nondescript underwear here, I’m talking about the Slip, or should I say le Slip, a must-have to feel naked in the air and on earth”. We had just reached our improvised takeoff and I offered her to try it. She looked at the minuscule harness and put it on. Once ready to leave the ground, she looked at me suddenly less fierce and asked: “Olala this is so light, looks like fine lingerie!” Few minutes later we landed next to the car, she was grinning and said: “oh Hell yeah I would never change that Slip!”

*Note when ordering:

"Full Kit" includes harness, airbag, speed system & carabiners. Speed system & carabiners are not sold individually.

"Airbag only" requires "N/A" for size and color.

"Full kit" and "Harness only" require size and color.

The "Full Kit" includes: harness, airbag, speedbar, and carabiners.

How to describe Le Slip 2 with…

…one word?
Indispensable

…one image?
The look of your friends when you flip it over from its pouch on the take-off

…one dream?
A midnight flight with just Le Slip on!

Designer’s words

Le Slip was originally created for every pilot who wants to lighten his/her backpack with the same spirit that we put in our wings: light, secure and fun. Built in durable materials, it makes you feel at ease for hours of flying and ground-handling. Our lightweight harness comes out of the washing machine in a new version!

What’s new?

More sizes for more pilots (Kid and L are added), lower chest strap for easier take-off, more comfort with more leg support: we want the majority of pilots to feel comfortable whatever their morphology or practice. Le Slip 2 also presents simplified connection points and introduces new user-friendly softlinks named AD Connect. A brand-new accessory clip-on system allows a better coupling with accessories such as the Airbag. Our harness is now certified up to 120kg. You’ve never felt so good in your Le Slip.

Accessories:

Airbag Le Slip 2

Le Slip still has its own diaper! Bottom and lumbar protection – our two-chamber technology ensures the best cushion for both areas. It now holds additional adjustable sliders for a tighter and more stable connection with Le Slip 2 and its pilot. It is compatible with Le Slip 1, and still compatible with flying with a rucksack. Made in strong D210 ripstop fabric and Nitinol rod.

Its weight: 280g.
Certified at 22G! (The top-certification limit for protectors -acceleration- is 50G. Very few protectors get results so close to 20G. So… our airbag is a pretty good protector, oh hell yeah!).
The kit (Le Slip, Airbag) weighs below 500g!

Yes, socks come in pairs! The Sock being our light and robust everyday cross-country harness, its sidekick is the light version. The Sock Superlight in AirDesign’s language.

How to describe The Sock Superlight…

…in one word?
Smart!

…in one image?
The faces of your friends when they notice its weight and compactness

…in one dream?
Vol-biv is no longer a dream but a reality, put on your Sock SL and go for it!

Designer’s words…

The Sock Superlight is the light version of our everyday XC harness. The pair shares the sock-fit-concept: tight everywhere around you, with no pressure point, no blisters. Essentially introducing lighter materials, the Sock Superlight is for hike-and-fly enthusiasts for whom every gram counts, without compromising comfort and handling.

Did you know?

Your harness packing bag is also used to inflate the protector. You can inflate the protector by mouth too. So, the bag or your lungs? One of the two involves more bacteria but the choice is yours! In any case, these are the two methods we recommend for inflating the inflatable AirPillow protector.

Construction & Features

Superlight durable materials. Take good care and it will last for very long.

Stability when you need it, authority when you want it.

High efficiency AirPillow Superlight, inflatable back protector (from thighs to upper lumbar area).

Super simple and safe 5 point clip-in system.

Front rescue container with ergonomic handle prehension, shoulder connected risers.

Large side pockets, huge back container, battery pack sleeve and zipped nose pocket.

And so much more!

The AirPillow is a protector that inflates by mouth or, better still, using the packing bag created for this purpose. The necessary air pressure is easily measured thanks to the resistance experienced when supplying air with the inflation bag or thanks to your lungs. Like any inflated volume, the AirPillow will increase in pressure with altitude. The length of the hose has been designed to allow the pressure to be readjusted in flight with the clamp in order not to risk rupture by over pressure. As a reminder: PV = nRT, it looks classy in society!

The Sock – #KeepYourSockOn

They were laughing. He liked to talk to her about paragliding because she always had those fantastic ideas coming from nowhere. He was presenting her their new pod harness and was kind of hoping secretly that she would help to name it.

She was looking at him. He was so passionate when he talked about paragliding. His eyes were shining and she knew that he was kind of looking for her approval.

“This harness is so comfy, it is tight everywhere, it makes me think of a climbing shoe!” He said.

“Come on!” she interrupted him: “You cannot talk about a climbing shoe to present something as comfortable!

“And why not?”

“Because when I think of climbing shoes”, she made a face, “I only see painful toes, that’s why!”

He scratched his head, he looked a bit disappointed. For him, the image of the climbing shoe stuck well to the product: stiff and comfortable, and above all so precise! Yet he suddenly had this terrible vision of his feet after a multi-pitch route. She was damned right.

She could feel he was annoyed. He was thinking while looking at his feet. She noticed he was wearing mismatched socks. One was covered by bright limes, the other was blue with fluffy clouds. She looked at her socks. They were decorated with red strawberries.

She had an idea but decided to create a diversion. She kissed him and said with her sexy French accent: you can keep your socks on…

Designer’s words…

The specifications for The Sock were as long as top model legs but we wanted a harness as simple as flip-flops. Sticking to our philosophy, The Sock is light, comfy and robust. An everyday pod harness that will take you from your all-day long XC, hike-and-fly training, XC competition to your Bivy project. The Sock is a versatile product offering the most efficient feel in the smallest packed volume.

Alexis Coudurier, designer

Construction & Features

The sock-fit-concept: tight everywhere around you, but seamless, no pressure point, no blisters.

Light and robust materials for everyday, every terrain use.

Stability when you need it, authority when you want it.

High efficiency AirPillow*, inflatable back protector (from thighs to upper lumbar area).

Super simple and safe 5 point clip-in system.

Stiff and comfortable 3D-shaped back (is your back full flat?).

Front rescue container with ergonomic handle prehension, shoulder connected risers.

Large side pockets, huge back container, battery pack mesh sleeve and zipped nose pocket.

And so much more!

*The AirPillow is a protector that inflates by mouth or, better still, using the packing bag created for this purpose.

Hike & Fly
Ultralight and compact, the Kode 2 P is ready to launch and land from any terrain. It is the perfect wing to instill confidence on all your hike & fly adventures.

Leisure
The great versatility of the Kode 2 P enables to all kinds of adventures, always offering comfortable, accessible and controlled handling.

Hike & Fly Fun
The small sizes 12–14, as well as the intermediate sizes 16–18 when flown near their maximum wing loading, are intended for experienced pilots with active flying skills. The wing’s behavior varies according to weight, becoming much more reactive and dynamic.

Each size, a different experience
The Kode 2 P is a highly versatile wing, whose handling changes depending on size and wing loading. Sizes 22, 24, and 26 are easy, pleasant, and docile; whereas sizes 16, 18, and 20 have a more dynamic and responsive character, especially when flown near the upper end of their weight range. The smallest sizes (12 and 14), which are mini-wings, are more agile and playful, with greater sensitivity to pilot inputs and weight shift.

It is a very stable wing in any size, especially well controlled in roll, thanks to the optimized arc.

Even lighter
The under-surface is made with the new ultralight and durable N10 22 g fabric, reducing the total weight of the wing and making it more compact.

Now, all sizes share the same risers – lighter yet just as easy to handle – which further reduces weight without compromising functionality.

More precise braking
The brake has been optimized to provide clearer, more progressive feedback, especially at lower speeds. It is easier to feel when the wing is approaching the stall point, allowing the pilot to anticipate and maintain control without causing an unintentional stall.

Handling remains accessible and intuitive, even in turbulent conditions. Transitions are smooth, turns are pleasant and climbing in thermals is efficient.

Easy launches and landings
Inflation is smooth and progressive, even in zero wind. Compared to the previous model, the wing rises even more easily, allowing for quick take offs.

During landing, the final flight phase is straightforward and controlled, thanks to the brake precision. Land confidently in tight or technical spots without difficulty.
