<p>Another crazy early morning alarm bell. Bright light in from behind the curtains. Time to wake up again, but… hey! Today is holiday! Today I’m going out!</p>
<p>Going out, where I love the most being, out in the skies over snow caped mountains. I love it. I love it when he’s taking me there!</p>
<p>Wake up, little SuSi, he’s telling me, today is the big day. Today is SuSi day, you’ll meet lots of sisters up on the peaks!</p>
<p>Funny coincidence: the radio is playing this cover from Siouxsie &#38; The Banshees – The Passenger I take it as a sign for another great journey with my beloved Passenger!</p>
<p>Well, what shall I report about the hiking and the flying… you already know well about it. Just enjoy the nature and enjoy your flight! That’s my style. When we meet with other couples at the parking lot before the hike, I’m surprised that I have quite some bigger and smaller sisters. And climbing up in the forest, then the fields, this bit of cliffs, we all exchange about life, nature, gliding, thermalling, competitions, speeding, all the fun we have.</p>
<p>And true, sometimes couples can be odd: this light casual pilot with a larger sister, this sporty shapy (mmmmh) pilot with my tiny sister… all sharing a same, same but different fun at the same time, in the same place. Louise just got her license last month. Flying with SuSi A. Johnny (aaaah, Johnny), the Himalayan survival guy, top fit, flying tiny SuSi D. All these other friends enjoying also SuSi B like me, and SuSi C of course.</p>
<p>Time to fly now. Let me enjoy it and I call you later!</p>
<p>The sun sets and turns into shades of orange and finally red. What a cliché, but I love it every time! One last SuSi sister is landing with her passenger. Ron and SuSi B just come back flying a nice triangle cross country style into the flats and back. The smile on Ron’s face reminds everybody else what this simple but amazing day brought us. We all love it, and I love my Passenger!</p>

<p><strong>Why is SuSi now the Superlight-option for the EAZY?</strong></p>
<p>Actually, the EAZY was built from SuSi. The SuSi concept has been proven over the past years to be safe and funny – so, it was obvious to design the EAZY based on SuSi. On the latest SuSi nothing changed much from perspective of agility, speed and fun but we closed the gap to the EAZY by certifying it into EN-A – bringing the worlds together!</p>
<p><strong>Designer’s words…</strong></p>
<p>Again, the story repeats. The Super Simple glider runs into its 4th generation. Development prolonged with tons of innovations like the BC-control and ratings in the EN-A. And still offering its now infamous flying sensation. I am stoked to have been able to redefine this glider and widen the usability of the wing again.</p>
<p>I remember the first generation of the SuSi which had no certification (only load-tested). I built it only for myself because I wanted a wing for hike&amp;fly which should be light, simple but performing.<br />
Today it still offers its typical flying sensations, it’s more robust than ever, and pilots all around the world can rely on the SuSi like they do since so many years!</p>

<p><strong>What&#8217;s New?</strong></p>
<p>Not that much of the spirit, but in construction details, a lot!</p>
<p>Improving the SuSi recipe, the glider feels more balanced overall. The starting behavior is even improved (yes!), rolling is more controlled. Full bar, the canopy has become more stable even with a glider being faster.</p>
<p>It got a fully working BC-riser control system over light or super light risers– it’s by the way a matter of weight or comfort which ones you use, it’s up to your choice.</p>
<p>And, in the standard loading we still achieved an EN-A rating (on most sizes), so newcomers to the sport can confidently fly the SuSi as their first glider. Surprise, surprise!</p>
<p><strong>How small can it get?</strong></p>
<p>SuSi 3 16 was the smallest EN-B certified glider in the world, now SuSi 4 14 definitely takes the lead (it’s only 12.18m2 projected)! And SuSi 4 18 is certified EN-A… AirDesign is definitely the specialist for small certified gliders. There is always a SuSi your size, whether you want to fly fast and furious, or smooth and peaceful whatever your weight is.</p>
<p><strong>Construction &amp; Features</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Double coated Skytex, doubled seams, etching tape on edges and new nose guard patches: robustness is the key.</li>
<li>Unsheathed Aramid but color-coded lines! Solidity has never been so easy to untangle.</li>
<li>Shark nose with un bendable Nitinol rods not only to save weight and increase robustness, but also to help for a more compact folding… To slip it more easily into your tiny rucksack.</li>
<li>On the leading edge, ground attachment loops help to prevent the paraglider from slipping on a steep and/or slippery slope (snow).</li>
<li>Seamless razor edge with mini ribs: all seams are internal for a cleaner surface.</li>
<li>Choice of comfy 12mm aramid or Superlight dyneema risers.</li>
<li>New BC riser control system for better control and stability at high speeds.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>AirDesign has a small one</strong></p>
<p>We work hard on every model to be able to maintain the behavior of the glider in terms of flying, and also outside the flight envelope, for all the certified weights, starting by the smallest ones. The certification of most of our wings starts at 50 kg because we chose to announce only what we have actually tested. And above all, because we make sure that the glider is efficient, secure and fun at this load and this is as important as the certification itself! Our aim is to have light pilots find the same pleasure to fly as heavier ones.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>FANTASIA Technical Features</strong></p>
<p>Apart from the extraordinary security and the extreme simplicity of the FANTASIA, it has some special technical features for this class, like the only 3 suspension levels over most of the span. We have also banished any Dyneema lines (as well from the brakes) in order to achieve better trim stability. Due to the spartan structure, the FANTASIA is very light even in the robust 30D / 20D mix.</p>
<p>Performance doesn’t really matter in this ultra-low class, but we found that we “can’t get rid of the performance, typical of our designs.” Due to the profile used and the very clean finish (zig zag 3D shaping), this simple wing still performs very well. FANTASIA rises extremely efficiently in thermals. It also glides remarkably well against the wind (the very stable profile used does not bank up).</p>

<p>Take off anywhere without issues. Ascend to the top in comfort, with a glider that is compact, easy to carry and pack. Enjoy different adventures combining mountaineering and flying.</p>
<p><strong>Optimal maneuverability</strong></p>
<p>A wing to progress with &#8211; easy to fly and with simple and intuitive handling. Maintaining the excellent characteristics of the Hook 5 P, this sixth generation offers great handling due to an outstanding maneuverability.</p>
<p><strong>Light and durable</strong></p>
<p>The Hook 6 P features reinforced Kevlar risers which weigh less and are much stronger. The webbing has been reduced from 21 mm to 12 mm. Therefore, drag has been subtly reduced.</p>
<p>The canopy is made of light and durable materials reducing the weight of the glider without compromising its durability.</p>
<p>The upper surface is made of Dokdo 32 gr/m2 and the lower surface is made of Skytex 27 gr/m2 (the wing weighs only 3.4 kg in size 22).</p>
<p><strong>Smooth and progressive</strong></p>
<p>Completely solid throughout the speed range to give the pilot confidence. Ability to take off from any terrain, with easy and progressive inflation. The long brake travel offers full control, allowing for a smooth and much safer landing.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>LAUNCH, LANDING &amp; FLIGHT</strong></p>
<p>Launches and landings are particularly easy. Excellent roll stability, a pitch-stable profile, and rapid inflation characteristics mean that the Moxie Power launches easily even with minimum riser input. Due to a generous and responsive brake range, landings are highly forgiving even in instances of late-stage asymmetric brake input. The wing is highly stable in pitch and roll, which provides all phases of flight from launch to flare with a high degree of passive safety and comfort. The flight segment can only be described as reassuring, with enough responsiveness in the brake range to make the wing enjoyable to fly while providing peace of mind.</p>
<p>This is a highly dependable tool for instructors and can form the backbone of any school&#8217;s fleet whilst also meeting the demands of the newly qualified pilot. No other wing is so easy and also so capable.</p>
<p><strong>FULL OF TECH</strong></p>
<p>The Moxie Power contains an amount of technological features that may surprise you given the class and the cost of the wing.</p>

In addition to our own extensive testing, it has also been independently flight tested to the EN 926-2 standard with the trimmers set to the slow position. Releasing the trimmers, or flying outside of the EN certified weight range invalidates any EN flight certification. As delivered, the wing does not conform to the EN 926-2 standard due to the inclusion of the trimmer systems on the risers.</p>

<p>We are learning more and more. We are learning with every prototype wing we build and analyze. We are learning about performance wings and safety on the bottom of the range. More and more we are able to combine performance and safety to a new level of balance: here is the <strong>SONATA 2</strong>!</p>
<p><strong>SONATA 2 TECHNICAL FEATURES</strong></p>
<p>The <strong>SONATA 2</strong> is not only the small sister of the <strong>SYMPHONIA 2</strong>. Because of the higher safety level it can afford a very big extended weight range to offer the pilot or the school more options. The covered lines make it easier for not so experienced pilots. The take off behavior as well as the roll stability are excellent: a MUST HAVE for a modern wing in that class.</p>
<p>The feedback from active schooling with the <strong>SONATA 2</strong> is confirming, that we reached our goal: takoff is very easy, roll stability excellent and most noticeable: the performance stands out from all others.</p>
<p><strong>SONATA 2 DESIGNER’S NOTE</strong></p>
<p>To optimize wings in that mid A class is not an easy task. The structural stiffness is a challenge. More wing curve is not the way to go as it results in less roll compensation. So we had to invest in the internals and the line angles. In contrast to the first generation of <strong>SONATA</strong>, the <strong>SONATA 2</strong> has 3 main lines and plenty of diagonal fingers. A very high complexity for this cost critical class of “school wings”. But the result of this effort is opening the door for not only being a “school wing”. The SONATA 2 has a delightful handling and an outstanding performance, which pleasures advanced pilots long after their first flights on the training hill.</p>

<p><strong>SONATA 2 TESTING</strong></p>
<p>As always, our test pilots put the SONATA 2 through its paces. It pays off: safety trainers value our gliders for their good behavior during extreme manoeuvres. The same applies to the SONATA 2: it is a pleasure to test it: very unspectacular in its reactions!</p>

Long awaited and longed for by many: now it’s here: the super light version of the SYMPHONIA 2!<br />

<p>Around 4.5 years ago we introduced a funny striped A class wing that cost as much as a High B glider. We then also communicated that this wing offers high B performance!<br />
-many competitors laughed at us at the beginning, but now they begin to understand:</p>
<p>Not only have we created a new class with the <strong>SYMPHONIA</strong> and finally established the A class as the “standard class”. “<strong>Super High A</strong>” is now in fashion! 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>SYMPHONIA 2 LIGHT TECHNICAL FEATURES</strong><br />
The SYMPHONIA 2 combines the unique properties of the SYMPHONIA with some new know how.<br />
The leading edge is more stable, a new intake makes launching much easier.<br />
The mini ribs and new rods in the nose improve performance.<br />
The sail cut has been revised.<br />
Line material and line geometry are new.<br />
The weight has been noticeably reduced: specially the SYMPHONIA 2 light is an extremely light glider.</p>
<p>Summing all up, the SYMPHONIA 2 performs even better than its predecessor and is easier to use.<br />
The center wing is more stable, which improves handling and safety!<br />
Precision and efficiency of the handling is reaching a new level.<br />
Glide on speed is even more outstanding.</p>
<p>The SYMPHONIA 2 light adds our leading ultralight technology to the SYMPHONIA 2.<br />
It shows the same performance and flying characteristics as the normal version.<br />
It might be even more agile and even better in extreme maneuvers.</p>
<p><strong>SYMPHONIA 2 LIGHT DESIGNER’S NOTE</strong><br />
The light version of the SYMPHONIA was awaited by many. Many pilots were asking for it. Finally we followed the wishes and did it. Now we are very satisfied with the result (and the even more colorful color layout).</p>

Around 4.5 years ago we introduced a funny striped A class wing that cost as much as a High B glider. We then also communicated that this wing offers high B performance!<br />
-many competitors laughed at us at the beginning, but now they begin to understand:</p>
<p>Not only have we created a new class with the <strong>SYMPHONIA</strong> and finally established the A class as the “standard class”. “<strong>Super High A</strong>” is now in fashion! Thanks to this unique wing and its children, we have also established ourselves on the market in a very short time.<br />
-and no one is surprised any more that there are more and more funny striped wings around!<br />

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>SYMPHONIA 2 TECHNICAL FEATURES</strong><br />
The SYMPHONIA 2 combines the unique properties of the SYMPHONIA with some new know how.<br />
The leading edge is more stable, a new intake makes launching much easier.<br />
The mini ribs and new rods in the nose improve performance.<br />
The sail cut has been revised.<br />
Line material and line geometry are new.<br />
The weight has been noticeably reduced.</p>
<p>Summing all up, the SYMPHONIA 2 performs even better than its predecessor and is easier to use.<br />
The center wing is more stable, which improves handling and safety!<br />
Precision and efficiency of the handling is reaching a new level.<br />
Glide on speed is even more outstanding.</p>
<p><strong>SYMPHONIA 2 DESIGNER’S NOTE</strong><br />
The SYMPHONIA project has always been a very special engagement for me. It was and still is the establishing of a new standard: the A class as the standard class. Everything above is unnecessary luxury. The SYMPHONIA is a high performance wing with A class safety. You hardly need more. The SYMPHONIA 2 rises the margin to an even higher performance / safety level.<br />
This is paragliding as it was meant to be: a high level of performance and a very high safety: being able to be used, controlled and enjoyed by everyone.</p>

<p><strong>SYMPHONIA 2 TESTING</strong><br />
Mike Küng tests the SYMPHONIA 2-23.<br />
Although Mike tested very hard as usual, the wing was new and still very stiff and the temperatures were low (neither ideal), the result was extremely good.<br />
The SYMPHONIA 2 sets new standards in terms of safety / performance!</p>

Launches and landings are particularly easy. Excellent roll stability, a pitch-stable profile, and rapid inflation characteristics mean that the Moxie launches easily even with no riser input &#8212; simply walk forward. Due to a generous and responsive brake range, landings are highly forgiving even in instances of late-stage asymmetric brake input. The wing is highly stable in pitch and roll, which provides all phases of flight from launch to flare with a high degree of passive safety and comfort. The flight segment can only be described as reassuring, with enough responsiveness in the brake range to make the wing enjoyable to fly while providing peace of mind.</p>
<p>This is a highly dependable tool for instructors and can form the backbone of any school&#8217;s fleet whilst also meeting the demands of the newly qualified pilot. No other wing is so easy and also so capable.</p>
<p><strong>Full of Tech</strong><br />
The Moxie contains an amount of technological features that may surprise you given the class and the cost of the wing.</p>

<li>Carefully engineered cell openings have eliminated any form of vibration or flutter that are frequently an issue in entry level wings.</li>
<li>Double transversal shaping tech from our competition wing series provides a perfectly wrinkle free leading edge, maximizing the glide performance available in this aspect ratio and profile.</li>
<li>An optimised line plan has reduced line drag by 18% compared to previous designs in this class of wing.</li>
<li>The Moxie-specific profile has been selected for the easiest possible inflation &amp; ground handling characteristics, and passive safety, while maintaining excellent performance for the class.
