SuSi XPed – Ready to explore

SuSi is back. Back to its original roots: an all-round glider, light and fun.

The SuSi XPed is the first product from the Expedition series (XPed) to be introduced.
Since the SuSi has its name and created its own class of gliders, the name XPed calls itself for being the lightest and toughest equipment for the most extreme and remote adventures. Weighing in at just 1.62 kg and designed for exploration, the SuSi XPed is also featuring an elevated sense of enjoyment. After all, that’s what it’s all about.

Feel. Explore. And enjoy!

By making the SuSi lighter and much faster while keeping its DNA, we allow the pilots to go much further in all their projects.
The first generation of the SuSi (Super Simple) had no certification, only load-tested. It was originally built by our designer only for himself because Stephan wanted a wing for hike-and-fly which should be light, simple but performing. By getting the EN-A certification in most sizes, the fourth generation of the SuSi enables beginners to safely use this iconic glider as their first. The SuSi XPed does not replace the SuSi 4. It completes our range by aiming at more experienced pilots but still remaining certified in all its sizes! Whoop whoop!

Construction & Features

Double-coated Dominico DOKDO-10DSF for top and bottom surfaces. A choice that has proven itself in our Superlight gliders range.

Optimized internal structure to save weight. Each gram counts!

Unsheathed, hydrophobic and color-coded Aramid 8001 Magix Pro Dry lines. Solidity has never been so easy to untangle.

Ground attachment loops on the leading edge to prevent the paraglider from slipping on a steep and/or slippery slope (snow).

Evident inflation, efficient lift: ideal for short and tricky takeoffs.

Delivered in a VacPack, the latter ensures a reduced volume in your rucksack but should not be used to store the glider.

Our Superlight series focuses on building lightweight gliders having durability and usability in mind. Our new XPed series takes one step further and aims to reduce everything to its minimum – with functionality and practicality. The SuSi XPed is the first product to be launched, it is the lightest SuSi ever but still reliable in every situation.

The Zeolite 2 GT development process pulled technology from the Photon and the Zeolite 2 XD (2023 X-Alps Design). This potent DNA combination has yielded a comfortable and highly efficient tool for hike & fly, vol-biv, and serious XC.

The Design

The profile has evolved to include the latest progress we’ve made in the areas of speed and handling. Principally, the benefits have come from a new cell opening position.

The aspect ratio is slightly increased, but still moderate for the category and very has proved to be comfortable in strong alpine conditions. The cell count is increased by 7, but a new refined structure provides the resulting performance increase without adding weight.

In Flight

Passive safety and collapse behavior has been improved via better chordwise line support at the rear of the wing. Despite the improved support, total line drag is less than its predecessor. A new spanwise architecture is made entirely of 3-cell bridges, similar to the Photon. This allows the best diagonal panel ratio for the amount of line attachments, which maintains light weight while increasing efficiency.

Photon or Zeolite GT?

The Zeolite GT is a faster and more agile wing for more experienced pilots. The Zeolite GT’s arc and winglet-free design yields the best possible thermalling experience while maintaining good collapse recovery behavior, however the pilot workload in turbulent air is higher than the Photon. The Zeolite requires more precise inputs in strong conditions as it is less pitch & roll stable. It is 1kg lighter and lower pack volume than the Photon. The durability of both wings is similar.

BORN TO COMPETE

We present the third generation of the Klimber. We keep improving our P Series two-liner: super compact, ultra-light and high performance. We put all our knowledge, technologies and experience at the service of pilots who want to achieve the best results in hike & fly and cross-country paragliding. With a competitive character, it has been designed for the X-Alps.

XC and hike & fly
The Klimber 3 P is the perfect partner for mountain lovers. Ideal for experienced pilots looking to reach higher peaks and cover long distances with an ultralight glider.

Hike & fly competitions
A high performance machine, perfect for complicated launches and landings. The wing stays solid and efficient, even in turbulent air. It is our P Series racing model par excellence.

Vol-biv
Go big distances with a paraglider that has evolved in terms of glide and thermal performance. The use of Nitinol allows a more compact and practical packing for those multi-day adventures.

Ultralight and high performance
Based on the design of the Peak 6, the third generation of the Klimber is higher performing and faster. A new distribution of the Nitinol reinforcements makes it more stable. It is the perfect tool for all pilots who want to push their limits. Its super light and compact characteristics remain the same, while its internal structure has evolved to improve its performance.

Greater brake travel range
The brake travel range has been increased by 25% compared to the previous version, increasing the passive safety of the glider. This makes the wing much easier to fly at low speeds and easier to launch and land in difficult conditions. Maximum control and efficiency in all phases of flight, especially take-off and landing.

More stable
The Klimber 3 P design improvements have considerably reduced the pitch and roll movement. Thanks to Niviuk technologies and a new airfoil, the Klimber 3 P is much more stable above the pilot and more efficient in flight.

Maximum efficiency
With a higher glide ratio and increased top speed, the Klimber 3 P is a perfectly efficient machine. Its high performance in thermals and glide is complemented by its exceptional maneuverability.

New cut and stitching
The application of mini-ribs on the trailing edge reduces drag and improves the aerodynamic shape of the wing. The DRS technology has been optimised: The mini ribs are integrated directly into the cut of the outer panels with the result that the outer seams disappear.

Five years after the Zeno’s release, it remains at the top of the EN D class, and we knew it would not be easy to replace, but after two years of intense R&D we finally have a worthy successor.

The Character

Our primary goal was preserving the Zeno’s legendary comfort and ease of use. The Zeno 2 retains the same cell count and AR in order to achieve this, in addition to more passive safety — improved response to front and side collapse.

Performance

The Zeno 2 profile’s new tech includes increased CM+ (reflex) and more rearward cell openings. This new aerofoil delivers significantly higher top speed, better glide, and higher efficiency throughout the speed range. With a slightly faster trim speed and significantly faster top speed compared to the Zeno, it now matches the Enzo 3 in top speed and glide. The top speed is fast, significantly faster than the Zeno (we have measured +7 km) and only necessary in a competitive final glide.

The Feel

Overall, the Zeno 2 offers a little more feedback compared to the Zeno, but always in an intelligible way. It remains comfortable and confidence-inspiring for pilots of the category. The heightened sensation makes it easier to sniff out cores, follow good energy lines, and feel the air. An optimised internal structure gives an impressive feeling of cohesion when climbing in thermic turbulence. A benefit of the covid delay is that it gave us time to fine tune the handling exactly to our liking — the turn response is precise and dynamic, with higher levels of agility than the Zeno.

Launch

The improved behaviour and cohesion of the sail is noticeable on the ground, with impeccable launching characteristics. The Zeno 2 inflates easily from any position on the ground even in nil wind conditions. Perhaps with the exception of the Zeolite, the Zeno 2 is the easiest 2-liner to launch.

The Pilot

The Zeno 2 is designed specifically for highly experienced XC pilots who fly at least 100 hrs a year and have a solid SIV background, and who need XC record hunting / competition-level performance.
