Although its comfort and accessibility exceed standards in this category, it is not recommended as a first pod harness. That said, you don’t need to compete in the X-Alps to fly it. The overall comfort and durability make it an excellent choice for an everyday harness for pilots in need of a compact hike & fly setup to access more remote take-offs, or for convenient and lightweight travel with a highly XC-capable harness.

It is definitely durable for the category, but please note that this is a light harness which should be handled with the normal amount of care and attention you give your light wings.

The Tech

The F*Race 2’s innovative structure is based on an ergonomic Dyneema pattern that has been designed for anatomic support. The longest ever X-Alps flight was completed in this harness structure by Damien Lacaze, who reported that it treated him well for over 11 hours.

Each side of the pod features large easy-access pockets for cameras and equipment. The high volume rear compartment has a hydration bladder sleeve, and pole stowage, in addition to the large under-seat compartment. The cockpit pocket stores batteries easily. A removable cockpit is ideal for larger instruments, which can be connected to a chest pocket for extra in-flight storage.

Safety and Certification

The front mounted reserve compartment is well-integrated with an easily accessible handle, and the rescue bridles are connected at the shoulders.

A new inflatable protection system features an innovative inner compartmented design which is more efficient. It is also quick to setup – during a hike & fly race, every second counts, and a new 50 gram pump provides rapid inflation. The protector can also be inflated using the bag which comes standard. A dump valve allows rapid deflation. An inflation tube is accessible in-flight.

The F*Race 2 is certified to EN 1651-2018 standard for pilots up to 110kg. The inflatable protector spans from thighs to above lumbar and is certified with a peak impact rating of less than 33.27 g.

In Flight

Clip-in is fast thanks to one fixed leg-strap, which doubles as an anti-forget system, and only 4 closing steps (including the upper-chest strap). Ground handling is trouble-free thanks to the flexible nature of the structure – increasing mobility on tricky take-offs. Cleverly positioned EVA foam and reinforcements eliminate pressure points.

In flight, weight-shift is effective and well-tempered, and the stabilizing system (with adjustable ABS) is comfortable in turbulence. A large rear fairing profile and smooth pod improve glide and stability.

In Flight
The Halo’s seat-board design provides gentle and easily understandable feedback. The weight-shift response is balanced and progressive, enabling the pilot to maintain the amount of bank desired in the turn. Its design allows for an easy transition from standing to seated positions, making the most important parts of the flight (take-off and landing) easier, safer and less stressful.

Structure
The secure and easy to use speed-bar storage pocket and the padded chest-strap protection make ground-handling and take-off very comfortable. An elastic keeper maintains ideal positioning of the speed bar, when deployed.

The Halo is equipped with an anti-forget harness system and the buckles were chosen to avoid confusion or mis-mating. Moreover, they are easy to inspect from the instructor’s perspective. Colour coding differentiates left and right buckles.

The Reserve
The new rescue system features a generously wide opening for easy extraction even in high-G situations. The rescue handle is strategically placed at the hip and is very easy to find.

Storage
Harness storage options include a large rear compartment with a smaller pocket inside for valuables, a left-side pocket that is accessible in-flight, a radio pocket and Velcro vario mount.

Light and Durable
Highly visible printing on shoulders help instructors to easily find the right size of harness. High-wear areas are made from durable materials.

At only 3.15kg in size M, the Halo is compact and light for how durable and protective it is. It comes standard with lightweight honeycomb seat-plate.

Options
The harness is available with two different back protector options (foam or inflated), which allow further reductions in weight and pack volume.

Comfortable high-performance XC harness for longest flights. The Forza 2’s passive safety, stability, and ease of use make it ideal for big distance.

The Forza 2 is a complex and feature rich harness that is comfortable and easy to fly in real XC conditions. We spent over three years of development on this project and the many prototypes have undergone hundreds of hours of test flying by some of the world’s best XC pilots. Our mission for the Forza 2 was to create an aerodynamic, durable, and highly comfortable tool for serious XC missions. This new design is the highest performance traditional-fairing harness we have flown.

The Structure
The Forza 2’s rigidity is carefully engineered. The backrest is anatomically designed to support every part of the pilot’s back. Foams of varied thickness and density are arranged for exceptional lumbar comfort. The seat has a small seat plate which provides the ideal level of rigidity and excellent weight shift control, with a support zone that is comfortable to rest in for many hours. A massive protector covers the entire back, and the seat protector is low profile but highly effective.

The harness closure has color coded buckles and the pod closure system protects against forgotten leg straps.

Storage
Two huge & easily accessible side pockets, a zipped pocket above the pod, a large and convenient cockpit, battery pocket, under seat storage, and a large rear storage area with hydration pouch and access / mounts for hydration tubes, and a ballast outlet / catheter exit point under the seat.

Aerodynamics & Performance in Flight
The large rear fairing profile improves the glide and stability of the harness. Many accelerated flight tests were conducted to refine the shape, angle of attack, and functionality of the pod and rear fairing.

The pod and the pod closure are secure and functional during intensive speed bar usage.

Reserve Compartments
Two reserve compartments with a magnet closure system provide a large opening while maintaining a smooth and aerodynamic outer surface. The rescue handles are accessible and easy to grip, while also being well-integrated with the outer surfaces.

The all new F*Lite 2 is designed specifically for para-alpinists and the most serious hike & fly pilots. The M size weighs in at only 102 grams and the S size less than 100 grams!

An optimized Dyneema thread pattern forms the structure of the harness, embedded in a sailcloth seat. Carbon fiber reinforcements provide leg support, and shoulder strap width is adjustable to further increase comfort in flight. Compared to the initial model, the carbon rod arrangement has been redesigned for better resistance and ease of use, especially on take-off.

The leg straps can be opened and are color-coded left and right for better clarity when connecting the wing, allowing easier gear-up on launch. The F*Lite 2 is speed-bar compatible and is delivered with a Dyneema line to be used as a speed bar, and with a convenient storage pouch.

Now available in three sizes to cover a wide range of pilots with improved comfort, the F*Lite 2 is EN load tested to 120kg.

Weighing in at only 9g, these are the ultimate connectors for ultra-light wings and harnesses*. These are made of dyneema webbing with a locking aluminium toggle and have a breaking resistance of over 2 tonnes. They are fast and intuitive to secure and colour-coded for each side. The X-Lite connect may be ordered as an option with the F*Lite2.

Features
We’ve kept the full-featured feel of the original Solos, with a spacious side pocket, camera / instrument lanyard, pouch and routing for hydration bags, and Velcro for shoulder-mounting varios. The reserve container is secure and protected in backpack mode, yet has excellent deployment characteristics with a wide and unrestricted release of the d-bag.

Protection
The inflatable back protection offers the best ratio of protection to weight that we have ever seen. Extensively tested during development, it provides certified impact protection even when not fully inflated. It is quick and easy to inflate on launch using the inflation bag provided with the harness which doubles as a glider storage sack.

An additional benefit to the inflated protector is that it functions perfectly during launch, when other airbags are useless, and it provides superior side impact protection. The bladder is easily replaceable.
